The new-look Whatsonstage.com Television channel is a rapidly expanding archive of theatre-related video content. As well as exclusive first night reports, we have compiled a large selection of show trailers, event promos, interviews, video diaries, behind-the-scenes footage and some hysterical “best of the web” gems, all handpicked by us.

Here’s a selection of some of our favourite recent additions:

  • Jersey Boys at West End Live – If you happened to make it along to West End Live last month (See News, 17 Jun 2008), you’ll know that Ryan Molloy and the other stars of Jersey Boys were a big hit. And if you didn’t make it, fear not, as we’ve tracked down some great footage of their full performance, which includes the songs “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and “Oh What a Night!” >>>Click here to view!
  • Broadway’s producer prodigy – Cubby Bernstein is Broadway’s best-kept secret, a maverick producer who’s very much at, shall we say, the fledgling stage of his life, if not his career. He counts myriad Tony Award-winning actors amongst his fanbase, yet you’ve probably never heard his name. >>>Click here to view!
  • High School Musical’s London premiere – Who was on the red carpet for High School Musical and what did they have to say about the Disney phenomenon? Amongst other recent first night reports are Marguerite and English National Opera’s Candide, while the 50th anniversary revival of West Side Story is coming up this week. >>>Click here to view!
  • Nicholas Hytner interview – Our partners at OnStage grab an exclusive one-to-one interview with National Theatre artistic director Nicholas Hytner, who outlines his mission to keep the NT at the “vanguard” of British theatre, and give an overview of this year’s sixth annual Travelex £10 Season in the NT Olivier. >>>Click here to view!
  • Zorro – The Show Trailer – Are you ready to swash your buckle? Zorro – The Musical, set to the music of Latino sensations the Gipsy Kings, has now transferred to the West End and the critics are raving in spite of themselves. Have a sneak peek at the £3 million production and hear musical clips from the show. >>>Click here to view!
  • Will Ferrell’s Musical Debut – El Zorro isn’t of course the only masked man on the musical stage. The Phantom of the Opera has been haunting the West End and Broadway for years. Contemplating a new career on the boards, Hollywood comedian Will Ferrell dons the famous white mask and gives his own hilarious rendition of “The Music of the Night”. >>>Click here to view!
