Written and directed by Michael Fentiman, the short piece will run throughout the summer
She may have been executed there almost 500 years ago, but a new play is set to bring Anne Boleyn back to life at the Tower of London from next month.
Written and directed by Michael Fentiman, The Last Days of Anne Boleyn will chart the final days of Henry VIII's second wife, from her imprisonment and interrogation, through to her trial and execution.
The performances – which run for 35 minutes and are included in the Tower of London general admission ticket – will take place throughout the summer, on the site of the lost Tudor Palace, where Anne spent her last 17 days and will draw on the music, ritual and liturgy of Henry VIII's Tudor Court for inspiration.
The new play arrives on the heel of new musical Six, about the wives of Henry VIII, which has just announced a return to London's West End in August.
