The new season promises to ‘exploit the potential’ of what the venue has to offer
The recently refurbished Shoreditch Town Hall has announced its summer season, which will see work staged throughout the historic building.
Highlights of the new season include two new immersive projects: Be Here Now (17-28 June) by Toot, which takes audiences "into their teenage bedrooms"; and Wedding (24-29 June), a specially commissioned project from Shunt artists Glen Neath and Hannah Ringham set during a wedding reception.
Unfinished Business' bedsit-set It’s Like He’s Knocking, created and performed by Leo Kay, will play on 11 and 12 July.
The venue will also play host to a mini pre-Edinburgh comedy season, featuring artists including WitTank, The Ruby Dolls, Richard Herring and Iain Stirling.
Artistic director Nick Giles said: "With a full autumn season announcement to come shortly, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to bring some really exciting artists and performers to Shoreditch over the summer months, continuing the momentum built during our highly successful debut season in the spring."
