Taking a leaf out of her Sex and the City co-star Kim Cattrall’s book, Cynthia Nixon (lawyer Miranda Hobbes in the TV series and films) is reportedly in talks to make her West End debut in a new production of the 1997 US comedy As Bees in Honey Drown, written by Douglas Carter Beane (whose The Little Dog Laughed made its West End premiere earlier this year). The play centres on a female con artist whose latest target is a young homosexual writer. Nixon appeared in Bees in New York in 1997 in a production for The Drama Dept, a theatre company whose founding members included Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker (aka SATC’s Carrie Bradshaw). An accomplished stage actress, Nixon’s many Broadway credits include Angels in America, Indiscretions, Hurlyburly, The Real Thing and Women.
