Sadie Frost will appear for one night only alongside her friend Frances Ruffelle in Ruffelle’s new show Beneath the Dress at the Pleasance’s cabaret venue, Ghillie Dhu, this Wednesday 11 August 2010 at the Edinburgh Fringe. The English actress and fashion designer will sing the duet “My Best Friend” with Ruffelle, who created the role of Eponine in the West End production of Les Miserables and is the daughter of stage school principal Sylvia Young. Frost was seen on stage in Fool for Love at Riverside Studios earlier this year and was Whatsonstage.com Award nominated for her solo performance in Touched, a one-woman play about a Madonna fan in which she made her West End debut last year. She remains best known for her screen acting in the early 1990s, having starred alongside her now ex-husband Jude Law in Shopping. Might Frost upstage her friend? When commenting about her forthcoming evening with Ruffelle, Frost said: “I did train as a singer when I went to stage school, and I’m doing a film at the moment where I’m singing. I’m having lessons, but I know my limit.”
