Last night (7 November 2012) we headed to the West End run of James Bourne and Elliot Davis‘ new musical Loserville on our Outing.
Michael sets his sights on creating the internet, but is distracted by beautiful and brainy Holly, played by Eliza Hope Bennett, who catches the eye of non-nerdy enemy, Eddie (Stewart Clarke) who threatens to take Michael’s work as his own.
Afterwards we were joined by Davis, Bourne, director Steven Dexter and members of the principal cast for a Q&A. Bourne talked about the difference between being onstage and now working behind the scenes as writer, and Davis told us the origins of his partnership with Bourne.
The cast then told us about what the whole process was like, as well as the good things about being able to originate a role. The changes made in transferring from the West Yorkshire Playhouse to the West End were also discussed.
We were then told about the audition process for the show, and the different backgrounds of all of the cast members. They then discussed the origins of the show with YMT UK, and finally the cast told us of mishaps that have occured with the prop-heavy show!
