Opening: Tabu, Tusk, Feats & New London Horse

Amongst the major London openings – in the West End and further afield – this week are:
OPENING TUESDAY, 31 March 2009 (previews from 28 March), Welsh circus troupe NoFit State bring their latest show Tabu to the Roundhouse. There are no seats in the auditorium, rather the audience stand as the action unfolds around (and above) them. Until 19 April.

OPENING WEDNESDAY, 1 April 2009 (previews from 28 March), Jeremy Herrin directs the premiere of That Face writer Polly Stenham’s new play Tusk, Tusk (pictured), a study of three siblings in crisis, at the Royal Court Upstairs. Until 2 May.
ALSO ON WEDNESDAY (previews from 30 March), Headlong presents Edward Gant’s Amazing Feats of Loneliness by Anthony Neilson at the Soho Theatre, a reconstruction of famed Victorian impressario Gant’s travelling show. For a limited run to 11 April.

ALSO ON WEDNESDAY, Unexpected Opera brings The Barber of Savile Row to Croydon Warehouse, adapted by Tim Riley and John Lovat from Rossini’s classic opera. To 15 April, as part of a national tour.

OPENING THURSDAY, 2 April 2009 (previews from 31 March), Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary’s new musical Jet Set Go! opens at Jermyn Street Theatre after premiering at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe. Until 18 April.

OPENING FRIDAY, 3 April 2009 (previews from 28 March), the highly acclaimed and award-winning National Theatre production of War Horse, based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, adapted by Nick Stafford and directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris, transfers to the New London Theatre (See News, 18 Dec 2008).

ALSO ON FRIDAY (previews from 31 March), Southwark Playhouse ends its Love and War season with the UK premiere of About Tommy by Danish playwright Thor Bjørn Krebs. To 25 April.
