Benny Andersson’s and Björn Ulvaeus’ Mamma Mia! opens at the Liverpool Echo Arena this Thursday.
Inspired by 22 hit songs by Swedish pop group ABBA, Catherine Johnson‘s sunny, funny story of love, laughter and friendship has been performing to audiences around the world for over ten years.
The musical tells the story of a mother and a daughter the night before the daughter’s wedding, which became transferred from stage to the silver screen in 2008 and went on to become a box office hit.
ABBA’s songs such as ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Take A Chance On Me’, ‘Super Trouper’ and ‘Thank You For The Music’ all inspired the musical stage show, which premièred in Dublin in September 2004.
Mamma Mia! the musical has been seen by more than three million people in over 45 cities since.
