The summer season fo The Old Red Lion Theatre was announced its summer today, leading with productions of Henry V and The Revenger’s Tragedy. The two productions run in repertory with previews from 25 July 2012 (Henry V press night 2 August, The Revenger’s Tragedy press night 3 August).
The Revenger’s Tragedy by Thomas Middleton examines a broken society, corrupted from the top-down, where sex, money and fame drives people to action in a time of economic inequality and industrial disasters.
The cast is made up of (Henry V and The Revenger’s Tragedy respectively): Mark Field (Henry, Vindici), Steve Fortune (Cambridge, Duke), Nicholas Kime (Dauphin, Castiza), Jack Morris (Henry, Lussurioso), Christine Oram (Chorus, Duchess) and Henry Regan (Canterbury, Hippolito).
Artistic Directors Henry Filloux-Bennett (Wasted, The Importance of Being Earnest) and Nicholas Thompson (Lady Chatterley’s Lover, La Dispute) take the helm of Henry and Revenger’s respectively, with video design by Emil Charlaff, costumes by Mike Lees, stage combat by Kev McCurdy, lighting by Leo Steele and sound by Ella Wahlström. Thomas Moore is the associate producer for both productions.
Henry V and The Revenger’s Tragedy will run at the Old Red Lion Theatre until 29 September 2012.
