A collaboration with the National Theatre, the show is inspired by Georg Büchner’s unfinished 19th-century play Woyzeck and will open on 20 June 2013.
According to press material: “Punchdrunk will transform a vast building next door to Paddington
Station into the forgotten world of Temple Studios, a legendary film
powerhouse.”
The building, a former Royal Mail sorting office situated at 31 London Street, is “significantly
bigger” than any space Punchdrunk has used before.

The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable
is set in a Hollywood studio populated by “dreamers who exist at the
fringes of the movie industry”. Involving a company of over 30
performers, it will be
Punchdrunk’s biggest project to date.
The show has been extended until 31
December 2013 due to demand; 50,000 more tickets are now on sale though the National Theatre website.
Led by Felix Barrett, Punchdrunk’s previous productions include Faust,
The Masque of the Red Death, Tunnel 228, It Felt Like A Kiss, The
Duchess of Malfi, Sleep No More and The Crash of the Elysium.
