Currently seen in the hit Channel 4 Soap opera as Spencer, Darren Langford is returning to Les Hommes Dans Robes de Chambre, alongside Trevor Hancock, collectively known as Men in
dressing gowns.
Set in 1940’s Manchester, two actors are performing at a theatre during the Blitz, we watch a performance mix genres such as Burlesque, Improvisation, Clowning, Music Hall, Puppetry and Dance. Arnold Thacker and Billy Langhorn are sitting in their shared dressing room during a performance in which they are both appearing, waiting and expecting, expecting and waiting for their turn on stage, but there is always something else to explore, another search for themselves, another path of deviation that may or may not make sense of their lives or deaths.
Les Hommes was previously performed at the Buxton Opera House Fringe Season in May 2008 and The Salford Arts Theatre in Aug 2008.
Direction is by Alan Pattison for the Lowry Studio Theatre production which plays from 3 – 4 July.
