After its world premiere and international tour in 2009, Liverpool-based theatre company Fool’s Proof Theatre return to the region with Je Suis Dead, as part of an eight-week tour of the UK.
Within Je Suis Dead, three people are thrown together in the aftermath of a near fatal train crash. However, unbeknown to them, the crash also brings back to life other parts of themselves, which manifest as strange characters from the past each with their own story to tell. Let loose and run wild, some stories are connecting, others seeming to repeat, still others remaining isolated. In the midst of it all the three strangers are forced to deal with their rapidly changing perceptions of reality.
Emily, a dreamy primary school teacher is exposed to the brutal side of life; James, the ruthless businessman is losing control; and Helen, a deeply private and conventional office worker awakens to her own vitality. As they reach out to each other in their vulnerable post crash state, their stories start to overlap and roles begin to get confused.
Je Suis Dead appears at the The Lowry in Salford Quays on 19 April, the Unity Theatre in Liverpool on 20 April, the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal on 22 April, and The Rose Theatre in Ormskirk on 26 April.
The production comes with a parental guidance of being suitable for those aged 16 years old and over.
