After what has turned out to be a successful run on Broadway, Hair could be set for a West End return.
When the new production opened in New York in March this year, expectations weren’t high due to the failings of revivals before it. However, the show has proved a success with both critics and fans, prompting producers, who recently recouped their investment, to consider a transatlantic transfer. Rumours claim that they’re hoping for a run at either the Piccadilly or Cambridge Theatre towards the end of next year…
Hair has book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado and
music by Galt MacDermot. The score includes “Aquarius”, “Ain’t Got No”,
“Got No Life”, “Good Morning Starshine” and the title song. It’s last London outing was at the Gate Theatre in 2005 (See News, 28 Apr 2009).
