Tony Award-winning actress Frances Ruffelle presented her new cabaret show at Madame Jojo’s in Soho this week (13 May 2009). Beneath the Dress is billed as “an intimate evening of live music inspired by women who like to entertain” and runs for a limited number of dates in May and June.
Since Les Mis, Ruffelle’s stage credits have included Chicago, Apples and Schwartz Stories, and she has released four albums, with a new one due out later this summer. Beneath the Dress is at Madame Jojo’s on the 10, 13 and 17 of May and the 3 and 14 of June 2009.

The cast of Marcus Markou’s new play Ordinary Dreams were celebrating their opening night at Trafalgar Studios 2 last night (14 May 2009, previews from 12 May). Sia Berkeley, Adrian Bower, James Lance and Imogen Slaughter all star in the 30-something comedy subtitled ‘how to survive a meltdown with flair’. It continues until 6 June.
