A new production of Summer Holiday is to tour the UK next year.

The musical, which is based on the 1960s film starring Cliff Richard and The Shadows, is adapted by Michael Gyngell and Mark Haddigan. Racky Plews is to direct and choreograph the piece, which opens its tour in Liverpool in May next year.

The show features songs including "In the Country", "Summer Holiday", "Travellin' Light", "Bachelor Boy" and "Living Doll".

Casting is yet to be announced.

Summer Holiday runs at Liverpool Empire from 8 to 12 May and then tours to cities including Milton Keynes, Woking, Bromley, York, Birmingham, Dartford, Leeds and Glasgow.
