Love Never Dies, Phantom of the Opera and soon-to-be Les Miserables star Ramin Karimloo could be set to star in a West End musical about the life of escapologist Harry Houdini which is hoping for a West End berth at the end of 2012.
Others involved in the show include magician Jamie Allan, who conceived the musical and will act as its magic consultant, and composer Simon Wheeler.
A production source today confirmed to Whatsonstage.com that Karimloo would front the musical, subject to availability. The show is currently looking for a West End theatre for autumn next year.
The show was launched in a cloud of social media buzz yesterday, 31 October 2011, a date which marked the 85th anniversary of the Hungarian-born magician’s death.
