As previously reported, George Stiles‘ new show, an adaptation of The Three Musketeers premieres at the Rose Theatre, Kingston this Christmas, the theatre’s first musical. Co-produced Bud Martin whose recent producing credits include screen-to-stage musical Legally Blonde, dance spectacular Burn the Floor and Dolly Parton spin-off 9 to 5, the show looks set to join the crop of musicals jostling for West End theatres come the spring. With an original score by Mary Poppins composer George Stiles, lyrics by Paul Leigh and book by Peter Raby, the show is directed by Francis Matthews. The full cast was recently announced with Hal Fowler playing Porthos, Michael Pickering as D’Artagnan, Matt Rawle playing Aramis and Paul Thornley as Athos. They are joined in the cast by CJ Johnson as Milady and Kaisa Hammarlund playing Constance. The show runs from 3 December 2010 (previews from 27 November) until 2 January 2011. With stars such as Clive Rowe involved in the workshopping of the show earlier this year, could he be lined up for a West End stint once he’s finished his seventh turn as the panto dame at Hackney this Chritmas?
