Last night (25 April 2012) Whatsonstage.com Club members attended an Outing to the West End transfer of An Instinct For Kindness, which premiered to acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2011 and has now transferred to Trafalgar Studios 2.
Directed by Hannah Eidinow this extraordinary solo performance is written and performed by Chris Larner who accompanied his chronically ill ex-wife to Switzerland’s Dignitas clinic. The script and performance draw us inexorably into the haunting, human story of a woman making the ultimate decision about her own life.
Chris Larner is a writer, actor and director. His stage work includes Alice in Wonderland (RSC); Wind in the Willows (National); and on TV, Clingfilm in London’s Burning. Director Hannah Eidinow has directed five Fringe First Award-winning plays – four of them, including An Instinct For Kindness, documentary theatre pieces.
In addition to seeing the performance, Whatsonstage.com Theatre Club members enjoyed an exclusive post-show Q&A with Chris Larner and Hannah Eidinow. Whatsonstage.com live-tweeted the Q&A, which took place immediately after the performance.
