Maria Aberg directs Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s musical
Casting has been announced for Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's Little Shop of Horrors, which opens at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in August.
Directed by Maria Aberg, the cast will feature Marc Antolin (Romantics Anonymous) as Seymour and Jemima Rooper (One Man, Two Guvnors) as Audrey.
Busted star Matt Willis will play sadistic dentist Orin, alongside Forbes Masson (Big Fish) as Mr Mushnik and US drag queen Vicky Vox as the plant, Audrey II.
The cast will also feature Renée Lamb (Six), Seyi Omooba (Ragtime) and Christina Modestou (In the Heights) as Chiffon, Crystal and Ronnette.
Completing the cast are: Joe Allen, Josh Baker, Billy Cullum, Julian Hoult, Rosalind James, Bobbie Little, Helen Siveter and Mary Lynn Tiep.
Aberg (Dr Faustus, RSC) makes her Open Air Theatre directorial debut with Ashman and Menken's musical, about a flower shop assistant who discovers a mysterious new plant with killer potential. It features classic songs including "Suddenly, Seymour", "Somewhere That's Green", and "Dentist!".
The production will have choreography by Lizzi Gee, design by Tom Scutt, musical supervision by Tom Deering, lighting by Howard Hudson and sound design by Nick Lidster for Autograph. Casting is by Stuart Burt.
