Antipodeans were out in force last night (4 May 2010, previews from 23 April) for the UK premiere of Oz hit Holding the Man at the West End’s Trafalgar Studios 1. Tommy Murphy’s award-winning adaptation of the best-selling memoir by the late Australian actor, writer and activist Tim Conigrave tells the love story of Conigrave and John Caleo, from 1970s teenage romance to the Aids-ravaged 1980s and 90s.
The play’s original director David Berthold helms the production, which is designed by Brian Thomson with lighting by James Whiteside, and presented by Daniel Sparrow and Mike Walsh Productions. Holding the Man continues its limited season until 3 July 2010.
