Simon Callow will return to the Arts Theatre this Christmas with his solo performance of Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

With sell-out seasons in 2011, 2012 and 2016, the piece sees legendary performer Callow take on the role of Dickens and explore the tale of Ebeneezer Scrooge.

The show is directed and designed by Tom Cairns, with sound design by Ben and Max Ringham, and lighting by Adam Povey. When it was last in the West End in 2016, critic Jane Kemp awarded it five stars and said: "Callow conveys all the benefit, and the redemptive power, of Dickens' humanity".

A Christmas Carol will also be reimagined for the cinema and screened on 11 December in cinemas nationwide.

The production runs from 8 December to 12 January at the Arts Theatre.
