This week (4 December 2012) over 110 Whatsonstage.com theatregoers took a travel through Christmas past, present and future at the Outing to see Simon Callow in A Christmas Carol at the Arts Theatre. This was our second year holding an Outing to A Christmas Carol and it is the first of our Christmas line up so it very much felt like a Christmas tradition and set off the festive season.

Callow brilliantly took the audience on a journey in this one-man production of Charles Dickens’ classic novel following Scrooge’s experience of Christmas in the past, present and what he would experience in future. The complexity of playing a vast number of roles and carrying the show singlehandedly did not seem to faze Callow in the slightest as he passionately performed this monologue version of what tends to be a popular production around Christmas-time.

After the show many remained behind for the meet and greet with Callow to congratulate him on a wonderful performance. He was very accommodating and willing to chat, sign programmes, books and take photographs for every audience member that wished to do so.

We hope all attendees enjoyed this Outing, if you would like to send us feedback or your pictures with Callow please feel free to email us on feedback@whatsonstage.com
