ABOUT THIS OFFER:
WIN one of four pairs of tickets to see Beautiful Thing at the Royal Exchange. But you better be quick!
ABOUT THE SHOW:
19 years ago Jonathan Harvey wrote Beautiful Thing, aged 24. The following summer it was given its premiere, sold out its five-week run at the Bush Theatre, went on to be a West End hit, and won Jonathan Harvey an Olivier nomination as well as the John Whiting Award. It has now become a cult film.
Set on a Thamesmead housing estate, it’s a glorious urban fairytale about neighbours and classmates Jamie, Ste and Leah.
Leah is obsessed with the music of Mama Cass, and routinely clashes with Sandra, Jamie’s mum. When Ste, who lives in the flat next door seeks refuge from his drug -dealing brother and violent father, Sandra takes him in and offers him the only available sleeping space, which is ‘top-to-toe’ in Jamie’s bed. Thanks to our friends at the Royal Exchange – we have four pairs of tickets to give away.
