UK tour of Frankenstein marks novel's 200th anniversary

Mary Shelley wrote the gothic horror classic in 1816 when she was 18 years old

A new production of Frankenstein will tour the UK to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s novel.

Ben Warwick (National Theatre) will play Young Frankenstein with Lara Cowin (The Obfuscati, Theatre503) taking on the role of Elizabeth Lavenza and Max Gallagher (Home Fires, ITV) playing Henry Clerval.

Louis Labovitch (Stomp!, US tour) will play The Creature and and Ashley Sean-Cook (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas) will play Robert Walton.

The piece will be written by John Ginman and directed by Eliot Giuralarocca.

The tour will start in Bracknell on 22 September before heading to Andover, Yeovil, Basingstoke, Shrewsbury, Burnley, Newbury, Oundle, Stowe, Mansfield, Durham, Middlesborough, Alnwick, Hexham, Musselburgh, Stirling, Kirkcaldy, Dundee, Basildon, Portsmouth, Eastleigh, Dorchester, Gravesend, Turnbridge Wells, Margate, Taunton, Eastbourne, Milton Keynes, Manchester, Kendal, Southport, Cambridge and Wolverhampton.

Frankenstein will open at the Wilde Theatre, Bracknell on 22 September before embarking on a UK tour.
