Tameka Empson will return to the Hackney Empire for their next pantomime Aladdin this Christmas, appearing at the venue for the first time in almost a decade.

Empson, who was a regular at the venue from 2004 to 2009, returns for this special 20th anniversary production written and directed by Susie McKenna, which will also star Clive Rowe at the pantomime dame.

On screen, Empson is perhaps best known for playing the role of Kim Fox-Hubbard in EastEnders, which she has been doing since 2009. Aladdin marks her first return to the stage since starting in the soap.

The pantomime kicks off on 24 November at the Empire and runs until 6 January.
