13 Going On 30 musical announces North American premiere company

The musical adaptation of 13 Going On 30 has announced casting for its North American premiere.

During its world premiere in Manchester last year, the WhatsOnStage Award-nominated new musical was described as “a sugar rush of a show, set to thrive,” by our critic.

The piece is based on the 2004 film by Revolution Studios. It follows Jenna Rink, a 13-year-old who wishes to escape high school difficulties and finds herself transformed overnight into a 30-year-old magazine editor with an unexpected perspective on life. The musical is written by Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa (who wrote the screenplay), with songs by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner.

Lucie Jones will return to the role of Jenna Rink, having been nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award when the show first opened in Manchester.

Matt Flamhaff will be played by Dom Simpson, with Grace Mouat as Lucy Wyman, Caleb Roberts as Richard, Andrew Berlin as Kyle Grandy, Morgan Scott as Wayne, Katharine Pearson as Bev and Iván Fernández González as Darius Mark.

The cast also includes Takaiyah Bailey, Jordan Calloway, Peter Camilleri, Amara Campbell, Henry Lawes, Sunny Lee, Kerri Norville, Rose Mary O’Reilly, Sam Jeffrey Parkes, Kelly Sweeney, Alex Tranter, Zaya Tserenbat, Aidan Watson and Amy Webb.

The young company features Harper Rae Asch as Young Jenna, John Beer-Principe, Cash Bickell as Young Kyle, Jack Bischoff as Young Kyle, Emma Chun, Devyn Cooper, Glee Dango, Addison Everett Stephenson, Athan Giazitzidis as Young Matt, Shazdeh Kapadia as Lulu, Nendia Lewars, Eytan Marcus-Wolpert as Young Matt, Victoria Martins as Becky, Markeda McKay, Maya Misaljevic, Ashayla Nation-Williams, Sofia Otta, Sienna Rader as Becky, Scarlett Sze-Wan Lau as Lulu, Natalie Waters as Young Jenna, Zoë Wheatley and Oliver Woon.

The musical is directed by Andy Fickman with choreography by WhatsOnStage Award nominee Jennifer Weber. It is produced by ROYO, Revolution Studios, Wendy Federman, and Phil Kenny, and is executive produced by Jennifer Garner.

13 Going On 30 will play in Toronto as part of the Mirvish 2026/27 season from December 2026.
