Hall for Cornwall is to present an evening of short plays written locally by members of the community through the “Anyone Can Write” programme.

Anyone Can Write has been a year-long quest to encourage people from all walks of life to put pen to paper and write a short play for the first time. Some of Cornwall’s finest professional writers have worked with communities and young people from across the county to discover Cornwall’s unheard voices.

In all, over forty scripts found their way to Hall for Cornwall, from which 6 have been selected to receive their first public performance on 4 May. A cast of professional actors and the directing talents of Tim Brinkman and Anna Coombs have been brought to bear to produce what promises to be a highly entertaining evening of premieres.

Contributors have come from all ages and backgrounds, and the project has been hugely successful in celebrating the wealth of new writing talent to be found in Cornwall.
