Twenty years ago, the Irish dance sensation Riverdance took the world by storm and the hit show is back on tour to celebrate two decades.

“The success of Riverdance across the whole world has gone beyond our wildest dreams,” said producer Moya Doherty. “The fact that the show continues to draw and excite audiences is a tribute to every dancer, singer, musician, staff and crew member who have dedicated themselves to the show. This 20th Anniversary Tour is a thank you to our UK audiences and a celebration of what has been an incredible journey across two decades.”

Composed by Bill Whelan, Produced by Moya Doherty and Directed by John McColgan, Riverdance has performed across the UK where it has been experienced by over 2.9 million people in well over 1000 performances in 18 cities and the show has lost none of its magic. The worldwide TV audience for Riverdance is in excess of 2 billion people.

Audiences in the North West have three chances to catch the show when it arrives in Manchester (Opera House – 7 – 19 October), Blackpool (Opera House 21 – 26 October) and Liverpool (Empire – 28 October – 2 November).
