The NYT rep company return to the West End to perform at Soho Theatre, Garrick Theatre and the Criterion
The National Youth Theatre has announced its upcoming summer and autumn 2018 season which sees the company performing in London and Edinburgh and internationally.
The NYT Rep company performs the world premiere of Victoria's Knickers directed by Ned Bennett, and productions of Evan Placey's Consensual and a gender fluid Macbeth.
Victoria's Knickers is by Josh Azouz (Buggy Baby) and will be performed alongside Consensual at Soho Theatre between 22 October and 10 November. Then in November, the NYT rep company will perform a gender fluid Macbeth at the Garrick Theatre, abridged by Moira Buffini and directed by Natasha Nixon. A fourth production will be performed by the company in January 2019.
Writer Tatty Hennessy has devised F-Off with the NYT company and director Paul Roseby. The piece sees the Facebook generation put the social media network on trial. It runs at the Criterion Theatre between 20 and 21 August, followed by Function on 17 September, about female liberation by Sophie Ellerby.
Nationally, the NYT will perform The Reluctant Fundamentalist at the Edinburgh Festival between 14 and 26 August and internationally the company expands its work with Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation with Flood by Rory Malarkey.
The company also announces a new audition access fund, which provides free support for schools and youth groups which have lost drama provision. New plays from Luke Barnes, Nessah Muthy, Asif Khan and Rachel De-Lahay will also be developed for the future.
