Matt Lucas is believed to have been offered a six-month contract in the West End run of Les Miserables, beginning later in the year. The Little Britain comic clearly impressed producers playing Thenardier in the show’s 25th anniversary concert in December, and is likely to play opposite fellow concert star Alfie Boe, who revisits Jean Valjean at the Queen’s Theatre for six months from June (and at our Whatsonstage.com Awards Concert on 20 February!). Lucas revealed recently that his perfect day would be “watching Arsenal in the afternoon and a performance of Les Mis in the evening” – looks like he may well get his wish.
