David Eldridge's new play, Beginning opened at the Ambassadors Theatre last night and we spoke to the cast and guests to find out how it went.

The piece, which stars Sam Troughton and Justine Mitchell, charts, in real time, an encounter between two individuals striking up a conversation at the end of a house-warming party.

In her five-star review of the play's premiere at the Dorfman Theatre in October, Sarah Crompton said Eldridge's writing was 'deft and detailed'.

Beginning runs at the Ambassadors Theatre until 24 March.
