Ghost-busting Evaporates

Among other offerings in their spring 2010 programme brochures you may have noticed that Yvette Fielding and her team from the television series Most Haunted have been billed to appear live on stage at a number of the region’s theatres, some of which reputedly have a whole green room full of ghosts.

Due to a clash of dates with projected filming for the next television series over the next three months, these live stage appearances have all been cancelled. So assorted long-gone actors, backstage crew and stage-door frequenters can moulder away undisturbed for a little while longer.

I wonder if they regret the lost opportunity to step once more into the limelight, even though in the 21st century it’s provided by arc lamps and the creak of hand-winched drop curtains and side pieces has been displaced by the silent efficiency of computers and pre-programming.
