Everybody's Talking About Jamie extends in the West End

Everybody's Talking About Jamie, which celebrates its first anniversary in the West End today, will extend booking until September 2019.

The show first premiered at Sheffield Crucible before transferring to the Apollo Theatre and has won a number of awards including Best New Musical at the WhatsOnStage Awards. It was screened live to 500 cinemas in the UK and an official cast recording has been released. The musical is also being adapted into a major film.

Based on the true story and BBC documentary Jamie: Drag Queen at 16, Everybody's Talking About Jamie has book and lyrics by Tom MacRae, with songs by lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling, Dan Gillespie Sells.

The musical currently features John McCrea as Jamie, Rebecca McKinnis as his mum,
Margaret, Lucie Shorthouse as Pritti Pasha, Shobna Gulati as Ray and Lee Ross as Hugo/Loco Chanel. RuPaul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage recently joined the show as Miss Hedge. It was also announced that Layton Williams would be taking over the role of Jamie from 28 January 2019.

The show is now booking until 28 September 2019.
