Heathers the Musical casts across the world unite for “Candy Store” performance

Heathers the Musical has released a brand new music video featuring cast members from the UK and Ireland, Australian and New York productions performing “Candy Store”.

In celebration of “Heathers Day”, as 1 September marks the fictional first day of school at Westerberg High in the show, the video includes Liberty Stottor (Heather Chandler), Jessica Ibadin (Heather Duke) and Lou Henry (Heather McNamara) from the UK and Ireland touring production, Zan Berube (Chandler), Jackera Davis (Duke) and Ava DeMary (McNamara) from the New York cast, and Calista Nelmes (Chandler), Amélia Rojas (Duke) and Abigail Sharp (McNamara) from the Australian cast.

In addition, it has been announced that the current UK and Ireland touring production will also venture to Manila for a limited run from 21 January to 7 February 2027 at the Theatre at Solaire.

Alongside, Stottor, Ibadin and Henry, the cast includes WhatsOnStage Award nominee Gerardine Sacdalan as Veronica Sawyer, Louis Hearsey as Jason “JD” Dean, Veronica Carabai (Black Power Desk) as Ms Fleming/Veronica’s Mom, Sophie Manners (professional debut) as Martha Dunnstock, Markus Södergren (Here and Now – The Steps Musical) as Kurt Kelly, Beau Jackson (professional debut) as Ram Sweeney, John Gurdían as Ram’s Dad/Big Bud Dean/Coach Ripper. Reuben Browne (School of Rock) as Kurt’s Dad/Veronica’s Dad/Principal Gowan, with Christian De-Gallerie (Midnight) as Preppy Stud/Officer, Ellouise Delooze (The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical) as New Wave Party Girl, Caitlin Garcia (West End debut) as Drama Club Drama Queen, Alexander Howarth (West End debut) as Hipster Dork, Charlotte O’Rourke (Cruel Intentions The Musical) as Midwestern Surfer Punk, Thomas Oxley (Bonnie & Clyde) as Beleaguered Geek, Tola Sokoya (We Will Rock You) as Young Republicanette and Carys Taylor (professional debut) as Stoner Chick.

Based on the 1989 film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, Heathers the Musical is penned by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe It first premiered in Los Angeles in 2013 before transferring to New York’s New World Stages in 2014. A revised version opened in London in 2018, featuring new material that has since been incorporated into the current New York production.

The musical has played three West End runs and three UK and Ireland tours to date, winning Best New Musical at the WhatsOnStage Awards in 2019. It was also filmed for streaming on the Roku Channel in 2022.

The show is directed by Andy Fickman, with choreography by Gary Lloyd, design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Dan Samson and musical supervision by Jeremy Wootton and Will Joy.
