A new permanent theatre space is to be created in the Scottish capital. Following successful productions from Edinburgh-based Siege Perilous at The GRV on Guthrie Street, the venue’s mangement have announced plans intended to reinforce a commitment to live theatre performance.
A dedicated space upstairs known as The Cube is to be refurbished in June with raked seating and a new lighting rig. Theatre-goers visiting the 60-seater venue will also be able to relax with a drink in the building. The White Room – downstairs from the theatre – benefits from much natural light, and is furnished with leather sofas and its own bar.
Past productions at the venue have included a double bill of new writing by Glasgow-based Cormac Quinn: Still and Signs of Life. Siege Perilous plan to programme visiting theatre companies from September.
