The Cock Tavern in Kilburn is presenting the first full-length response to the general election, a piece of devised work called Swing, which runs from 22 May to 12 June.

Set at a house party on election night after the votes have all been counted, the play will examine the results of the real-life election on 6 May and voters’ responses to it. Swing is devised and directed by Jamie Harper and Dan Muirden and designed by Moi Tran.

Harper won the JMK Directors’ Award in 2006 and has directed productions at some of the London fringe’s strongest venues for new writing, including the Finborough (The Six-Days World), the Arcola (A Real Humane Person Who Cares and All That) and Theatre503 (Sound Dust). He has collaborated with playwright and co-director Muirden previously on the latter’s first play, The Things Good Men Do and Invisible Storms, which ran at the Cock Tavern a year ago.

Swing is produced by Good Night Out, the Cock Tavern’s resident company.
