Kim Cattrall will reportedly star in a new production of Tennessee Williams’ Sweet Bird of Youth at the Old Vic next summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the production, which will be directed by Marianne Elliott (War Horse), will open in June 2013 as part of Kevin Spacey’s “final season as artistic director at the Old Vic”.

Cattrall, best known for her long-running role as Samantha in Sex and the City, will play temperamental movie star Alexandra del Lago in the play, which was first seen on Broadway in 1959.

Her recent stage credits include Antony and Cleopatra in Chichester and Private Lives in the West End.
