Casting has been announced for the transfer of David Harrower‘s A Slow Air from Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre to the Tricycle in Kilburn. The production, which was a hit for the Traverse at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, runs from 10 May (previews from 7 May) to 2 June 2012.

Susan Vidler plays Morna and Lewis Howden Athol, a Scottish sister and brother in their mid-forties who haven’t spoken to each other for 14 years. When Morna’s son Joshua makes contact with Athol he triggers a life-changing series of events.

Also directed by David Harrower the production will arrive at the Tricycle from a stint at the 59E59 Theatres in New York where it is playing until 28 April 2012.

Susan Vidler’s recent stage credits include David Harrower’s Knives in Hens for the National Theatre of Scotland, and Petrol Jesus Nightmare.

Lewis Howden’s has recently been seen on stage in Defender of the Faith and The Beauty Queen of Leenanne, both for Tron Theatre Company.

David Harrower’s previous theatre work includes Knives in Hens for the Traverse Theatre/The Bush Theatre. He adapted The Good Soul of Szechuan for the Young Vic in 2008.

Set and costume design is by Jessica Brettle, lighting design by Dave Shea and sound by Barry McCall.
