Ben Goffe has just opened as Cupid in the RSC's production of Dido, Queen of Carthage in Stratford-upon-Avon. His other RSC credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream: A Play for the Nation and The Hypocrite as well as The Beauty and the Best at New Wolsey and Graeae's production of The Threepenny Opera.

Here he takes us behind the scenes in Kimberley Sykes' new production which is playing in Stratford alongside Coriolanus.

First day…

BG: "About to head in for the day!"

This doesn't look like your average notes session

BG: "Few of the cast after notes with our director Kimberley Sykes"

Last minute touches?

BG: "Our stage manager Pip Horobin during one of our tech sessions (Photo courtesy of Tom Lorcan)"

It's hairdo time

BG: "Getting my wig fixed with the lovely Charlie Griffiths."

A spot of archery

BG: "Can't be Cupid without my bow and arrows!"

Stepping out together

BG: "Me and my dressing room mate Will Bliss about to make our first entrance together."

Shhhhhhh!

BG: "Halfway through the show!"
