Our Whatsonstage.com photographer Dan Wooller had a busy night last night. While racing round to snap the arrivals, curtain call and post-show party for the new Take That musical Never Forget at the Savoy Theatre (See Today’s Other 1st Night Photos), he nipped over to congratulate Never Mind the Buzzcocks comedian Phill Jupitus, who was making his West End debut in the new comedy Lifecoach down the road at Trafalgar Studios 2 (See News, 13 Mar 2008).

Wendy’s life is a mess. Her boss is losing patience, her boyfriend has no respect for her and she can’t speak up for herself. Wendy needs help. Unfortunately so does her life coach, Colin (Jupitus). Normally incisive and rational, Colin is quick to see where others are going wrong and quick to help them put it right. But what happens when Colin loses his way? What happens when the coach loses direction?

Amy Darcy plays Wendy in Lifecoach, which opened on 22 May (previews from 20 May) and continues until 14 June 2008. The cast also includes Tim Plester and Katarina Olsson. The new comedy is written and directed by screenwriter Nick Reed and designed by Jason Denvir, with lighting by Mike Robertson. It’s produced by Stuart Piper and Jason Haigh-Ellery.
