Casting has been announced for the new stage adaptation of Virginia Woolf's Mrs Dalloway, which opens on 25 September at the Arcola.

Set on a day in 1923, the piece follows the titular Clarissa Dalloway as she throws a party for her high-society friends, while World War One veteran Septimus Smith seeks help in the same city.

Clare Perkins (currently seen in Emilia at Shakespeare's Globe) plays Dalloway in the production, joined by Guy Rhys (The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui) as Septimus, Clare Lawrence Moody (The Divide) as Sally, Sean Jackson (Antony and Cleopatra) as Peter and Emma D'Arcy (Against) as Rezia.

The show, which has been adapted by Hal Coase (who returns to the Arcola following Callisto, a queer epic) has direction by Thomas Bailey (The Games We Played), design by D'Arcy with lighting by Joe Price and sound by Tom Stafford.
