Young Frankenstein wins 2018 West End Bake Off

The fourth annual event raised almost £10,000 for charity

The winners of this year's West End Bake Off have been announced after an amaizeing contest raised lots of dough for charity and not a single soggy bottom in sight.

17 shows from around theatreland took part in the fourth annual competition – which raised £9,500 for Acting for Others, a fundraising organization for 15 UK theatrical charities – and the company of Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, currently playing at the Garrick Theatre were crowned the cherry on the cake.

This year's judges were Wendi Peters, Ruthie Henshall and Christopher Biggins who said: "It's so fantastic to be here again judging for the fourth year of this amazing competition which helps so many people in the West End. Every year gets more and more exciting and the cakes get more and more phenomenal, it really is such an exciting day!"

The event, held at St Paul's Actors Church in Covent Garden, saw shows including Hamilton, The Play That Goes Wrong, Les Misérables, Phantom Of The Opera and The Book of Mormon take part.
