Tina – The Musical has extended its West End run to 20 October 2018.
The piece, based on the life of world-famous rock star Tina Turner, will open at the Aldwych Theatre on 17 April. The brand new production follows Tina's origins in Nutbush Tennessee and her transformation into a superstar.
Adrienne Warren will be making her West End debut as Tina, joined by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith as Ike Turner, Madeline Appiah as Tina’s mother Zelma Bullock, Jenny Fitzpatrick as the alternate Tina, Lorna Gayle as Tina’s Grandmother GG, Tom Godwin as record producer Phil Spector and lyricist Terry Britten.
It is directed by Phyllida Lloyd (Mamma Mia!) and written by Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins. The choreography is by Anthony van Laast, with set and costume designs by Mark Thompson, musical supervision by Nicholas Skilbeck, lighting by Bruno Poet, sound by Nevin Steinberg, projection design by Jeff Sugg and orchestrations by Ethan Popp.
Earlier this month, the show announced it would hold open auditions for a young Tina Turner.
Tina runs at the Aldwych Theatre from 17 April, with previews from 21 March. It is booking to 20 October.
