Open auditions for the West End production of Tina – The Musical will take place later this month.

The auditions will take place on 13 January at the National Youth Theatre rehearsal rooms in north London, with registration from 10:30am.

The show is hoping to find "black and mixed race girls between the ages of nine and twelve years old, under 4' 10" with good acting skills and a fantastic singing voice". Auditionees are advised to wear comfortable clothes and trainers.

The casting director, Pippa Ailion, (who was recently made MBE) said: "If you are black or mixed race, can act and have a fantastic singing voice we want to meet you! Come and join us later this month when we are holding auditions for the opportunity to become a member of our West End Company and to tell Tina’s story."

Any further enquiries should be made via email at enquiries@pippaailioncasting.co.uk.

Tina will have its world premiere in April 2018 in the West End, and is made in collaboration with Turner herself, with direction from Phyllida Lloyd (The Shakespeare Trilogy).

The show's cast includes Adrienne Warren in the title role, with Kobna Holdbrook-Smith as Ike Turner, Madeline Appiah as Tina’s mother Zelma Bullock, Jenny Fitzpatrick as the alternate Tina, Lorna Gayle as Tina’s Grandmother GG, and Tom Godwin as record producer Phil Spector and lyricist Terry Britten.

Tina – The Musical runs at the Aldwych Theatre from 17 April until 16 June, with previews from 21 March.
