Just as the summer is finally arriving seems a funny time to be turning our thoughts to Christmas, but the phenomenally successful show that will be filling the festive slot at the Dome Concert Hall is likely to sell out so quickly that waiting until the nights draw in would be a big mistake.

The co-founders of STOMP, Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, and their production company Yes/No productions, are returning to Brighton to present the record-breaking Lost and Found Orchestra, a truly spectacular symphonic experience that sees everyday objects turned into a plethora of invented instruments. Backed by a choir, it also incorporates the human voice to the mix – transforming the plucked, blown and thumped melodies into complex symphonic and choral structures.

Using everything from musical saws and bottles to whirly toys, traffic cones and rope ladders to create a dazzling array of homemade instruments, every section of a symphony orchestra is captured in all its aural glory. Add a dash of STOMP’s radical rhythm, some astonishing physical theatre, and more than a healthy dose of tongue in cheek comic behaviour, and the world’s most anarchic orchestra is born – perfect festive fun for families, music aficionados and those that like their theatrics lively and loud.

With the help of a crew made up of experienced STOMP personnel alongside classical musicians who were prepared to abandon their instruments and learn how to play saws and hosepipes, the orchestra are thrilled to be back home, six years after they opened Brighton Festival 2006 to massive acclaim.

A spokesperson for the Dome Concert Hall said, “You know Stomp, but you might not necessarily know The Lost and Found Orchestra and we’re really excited about bringing it back to Brighton for Christmas. They are a real, local success story as together The Lost and Found Orchestra and STOMP have broken box office records around the world!

The Lost and Found Orchestra can be experienced at the Dome Concert Hall, Brighton from 20 – 29 December (excluding 24, 25 and 26 December) at 7.30pm with Saturday matinees at 2.30pm on 22 and 29 December.
