Shakespeare's Globe The Winter's Tale casting announced

Blanche McIntyre directs this production which opens in June

Full casting has been announced for Blanche McIntyre's production of The Winter's Tale at Shakespeare's Globe, which opens next month.

Will Keen (Ghosts, Almeida, The Crown, Netflix) will star as Leontes alongside Annette Badland (EastEnders, BBC, Hung Over, Royal Court) as Old Shepherd, Priyanga Burford (Consent, National Theatre) as Hermione, Sirine Saba (Goats, Royal Court) as Paulina and Oliver Ryan (Glengarry Glen Ross, West End) as Polixenes.

Adrian Bower (Hedda, Gate Theatre) plays Camillo, with Norah Lopez-Holden (Our Town, Manchester Royal Exchange) as Perdita, and Howard Ward (Wild Honey, Hampstead Theatre) as Antigonus.

The cast is completed by Zora Bishop, Becci Gemmell, Luke MacGregor, Jordan Metcalfe and Rose Wardlaw.

The production – which will have design by James Perkins and composition by Isobel Waller-Bridge – is part of Michelle Terry's first season in charge of Shakespeare's Globe. She is currently starring in Hamlet which is running in rep with As You Like It. The season also includes a production of Othello, directed by Claire van Kampen and featuring André Holland in the title role alongside Mark Rylance as Iago.
