Operation Mincemeat extends UK and Ireland tour with 2027 stops

Operation Mincemeat is to extend its UK tour, with a second leg beginning in February 2027.

The Tony, WhatsOnStage and double Olivier Award-winning musical has sold 290,000 tickets and played more than 20 weeks of sold-out performances on its current UK tour. The first leg began with two weeks at the Lowry in Salford and will conclude on 28 November after 304 performances.

The tour dates are: Dartford’s Orchard Theatre (23 to 27 February), Milton Keynes Theatre (2 to 6 March), Bath Theatre Royal (9 to 20 March), Cheltenham Everyman Theatre (23 to 27 March), Sunderland Empire Theatre (6 to 10 April), Darlington Hippodrome (20 to 24 April), Brighton, Theatre Royal (27 April to 1 May), the Lowry in Salford (11 to 22 May), Truro, Hall for Cornwall (1 to 5 June), Portsmouth Kings Theatre (8 to 12 June), Blackpool’s Grand Theatre (15 to 19 June), Inverness Eden Court (22 to 26 June), Edinburgh’s King’s Theatre (29 June to 3 July), Glasgow Theatre Royal (6 to 10 July), Oxford New Theatre (13 to 17 July), Aylesbury, Waterside Theatre (20 to 24 July), Nottingham Theatre Royal (27 to 31 July), Leeds Grand Theatre (3 to 7 August), Belfast Grand Opera House (10 to 14 August), Dublin (17 to 21 August, venue to be confirmed), Birmingham’s Alexandra Theatre (24 to 28 August), Cardiff New Theatre (14 to 18 September), Woking Theatre (21 to 25 September), York’s Grand Opera House (28 September to 2 October), Liverpool Empire (5 to 9 October), Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre (12 to 16 October), Leicester’s Curve, (19 to 23 October), Sheffield’s Lyceum Theatre (26 to 30 October), Cambridge’s Arts Theatre (2 to 6 November), Bradford Alhambra Theatre (9 to 13 November), and Southampton Mayflower Theatre (16 to 20 November).

Meanwhile, Operation Mincemeat continues in the West End at the Fortune Theatre, where its latest extension takes the production through to 29 May 2027. The Broadway production at the Golden Theatre has also been extended through to 14 March 2027.

The musical follows the true story of the Second World War operation in which British intelligence used a corpse carrying false documents to mislead Nazi Germany about the Allied invasion of Sicily.

Operation Mincemeat began at the 77-seat New Diorama Theatre in 2019 before transferring to Southwark Playhouse and Riverside Studios. It opened in the West End in May 2023 at the Fortune Theatre, where it continues.

The musical is written by SpitLip, comprising David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson and Zoë Roberts, and directed by Robert Hastie.

Tickets for the UK tour extension go on pre-sale at 10am on 23 September, with general sale beginning at 10am on 25 September.


Operation Mincemeat is produced in the West End, on tour and on Broadway by Avalon in association with SpitLip. The show was commissioned by New Diorama Theatre and co-commissioned by the Lowry.
