Stars joined the cast and crew of Waitress last night at the Adelphi to celebrate the opening of the Broadway musical.

Sara Bareilles' songs feature in the piece, which is based on the 2007 film by Adrienne Shelly and has a book by Jessie Nelson.

Michael Caine, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Ben Forster and more joined the stars for the opening.

Katharine McPhee stars as Jenna alongside Jack McBrayer as Ogie, Marisha Wallace as Becky, Laura Baldwin as Dawn, Peter Hannah as Earl, David Hunter as Dr Pomatter and Shaun Prendergast as Old Joe.

The show tells of a waitress and avid baker in a small town working in a diner who is stuck in a toxic relationship.

The show is directed by Diane Paulus, with choreography from Lorin Latarro, lighting from Ken Billington and designs from Scott Pask.
