The thriller continues on a major tour
The cast joining Laura Whitmore in the UK tour of The Girl on the Train has been revealed.
Whitmore follows previously announced cast members Giovanna Fletcher and Louisa Lytton, who also share the role across different dates. Her performances begin at Theatre Royal Brighton on Tuesday 3 June. She will appear throughout the summer in venues including Milton Keynes, Malvern, Aberdeen, Leeds, Inverness, Mold, Southampton, Belfast, and Cork, before concluding her run at Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in late August.
The Girl on the Train follows Rachel Watson (Whitmore), who becomes entangled in the mystery surrounding a missing woman she observes daily from her train window. As events unfold, Rachel finds herself pulled into a story that challenges her perceptions and places her at the centre of a police investigation. The Girl on the Train is adapted by Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel, and is directed by Loveday Ingram.
The show, based on the bestselling novel by Paula Hawkins, is a Wiltshire Creative production presented by Melting Pot and Josh Andrews Productions. It previously toured in 2019.
Joining Whitmore in the company are Daniel Burke as Kamal Abdic, Zena Carswell as Anna, Samuel Collings as Scott Hipwell, Freya Parks as Megan Hipwell, Paul McEwan as DI Gaskill and Edward Harrison as Tom Watson. The understudies are Ellie Gallimore and Oliver Brooke.
The novel has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide and was adapted into a film starring Emily Blunt. The stage version has proven popular with audiences across the UK.
