Bryony Kimmings will deliver this year's Fringe Central Opening Address, marking the beginning of the Edinburgh Fringe.

Kimmings, an award-winning comedian and theatremaker, is the third artist to give the address, which will take place on 7 August at Fringe Central 2 in David Hume Tower.

"I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences; from insightful ways to get noticed to the best places to get drunk," said Kimmings, whose show this year is called Fake It 'Til You Make It. "I literally cannot wait to do my Fringe address."

Kath M Mainland, chief executive of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, said: "I'm absolutely sure that Bryony will be an inspiration to participants given her experience as an artist both here at the Fringe and around the world."
